An Army encounter in Nagaland on 4th Dec 2021 went horribly wrong resulting in the killing of 14 civilian mine workers and the death of one Army personnel. Several apex tribal organizations have started agitation and have demanded severe action against the Army officers responsible for this botched-up operation.
The Nagaland govt. has issued a statement on this heart-wrenching incident asking for the immediate repeal of AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act). The opposition parties in India have termed this horrible encounter as a result of total intelligence failure on the part of Defence forces.
